Millhouse Furniture is a family run furniture store in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Established over 30 years, the business has gone from strength to strength, ever changing to suit the latest styles and trends desired by local customers.
Over the past few years, we have helped Millhouse change the face of their company in order to achieve a new position in the furniture market. From branding to web, social media to price tickets, everything has been redone in order to create an entirely new customer experience that simply works.
The new website was designed with the brand and consistent styling in mind, encouraging users to browse in a style focused manner. With lifestyle images taking centre stage, the site helps bring out the beautiful collection of furniture Millhouse offers, while helping customers find what they are looking for.
A family run bed manufacturer based in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, MA Living came to us when they needed to reinvent their image for the modern market. The brand was not in line with their product, bespoke high quality bed frames, lovingly handcrafted using years of family expertise.
Once we had received the brief, our aim was to overhaul and reinvent the MA brand to work alongside the products. First, we rebranded MA with the logo and brand you see above. Using an in depth design process, we isolated a brand trend that would work alongside everything MA for years to come.
We then began work on the bespoke website system. MA needed a front end website, as well as a customer login area where business customers could go and view product information and imagery. The system was designed to be simple and user friendly, and with over 100 of their customers now using it monthly, the system has saved many hours of work sending information out to customers each week.
Alongside the new look, Chord helped create print & marketing collateral for MA, such as product specification sheets and presentation folders. Everything was designed to bring out the best of MA in whatever space we could. Chord also helped deliver a full exhibition stand design for MA at the 2018 NBF Bed Show, which drew attention from both new and existing business customers.

For over 35 years, Magnum Furniture have lead the way in supplying a vast variety of furniture and interior styling to Leigh and the surrounding areas in the North West. With the brand starting to look slightly aged, and a website that had been stuck in limbo for so long, Magnum approached Chord to help reignite their marketing and online capabilities to match their in store appearance.
We started by refreshing the Magnum brand, tweaking the logo to look great alongside modern products and lifestyle shots. As well as the logo, we updated Magnum’s store signage and online collateral to create a consistent look for their customers in the purchasing journey.
Chord built a new website for Magnum, utilising their ZigZag database and running the site from their EPOS catalogue. This meant that no product data input work was needed, and we could simply ‘plug and play’ using the system. The Magnum site also offers an order enquiry system, in which customers can add products to an enquiry and submit their interest via email to Magnum directly.

A beautiful furniture store, run by a loving family, Furniture World is a stylist’s dream based in Askern, Doncaster. With ample floor space, the potential of the store is great, however the look and marketing of the store had fallen behind modern times online.
Chord has helped Furniture World grow their Facebook & Instagram presence. With such a stylish store, their instagram feed has been redesigned and grown under our management. Stye shots and featured looks have seen great response from the Instagram community. Our work on Facebook has led to more footfall and in store enquires on products, as well as growing their Facebook audience from 300 to 6500 in 12 months.

Born from humble beginnings, The Bed Post is a bed, divan & mattress haven in South London and the surrounding areas. With a simple brand statement of quality delivered fast, the company needed a new website and marketing effort to get their message out to their local audience.
We helped change the way The Bed Post worked online. Using their EPOS from RetailSystem, we used their already existing catalogue and plugged it in to the new site, saving hours of data entry and product information sourcing. The new site runs live from their data, and helps customers find the latest prices faster.
As well as the main areas of the site, Chord helped create a bespoke application in the ‘Divan Builder’. Using divan products The Bed Post have on offer, the builder allows a customer to create their own divan base, headboard and mattress deal. Once complete, the customer can print the quote or email their enquiry to request a call back. It really is an awesome tool, which has seen a large number of enquiries since its launch.

Nestled in the outskirts of Huddersfield, House of Oak is home to a fantastic collection of wooden furniture as well as modern looks in Dining, Bedroom, Living and Upholstery too. After investing heavily in a new ecommerce site, Chord were asked to help improve the social media aspect of their marketing, as well as other in store collateral.
Using Facebook and Instagram, Chord has worked to grow an audience and improve enquiries online as well as footfall in store. Being both an online and bricks & mortar setup, our marketing strategy involved catering to both of these sides of the company, ensuring campaigns were targeted to the right people for the right service.
Chord also regularly post blog posts and edit videos to put onto their site blog and YouTube channel. These help to improve the SEO abilities of their website, as well as continually provide new content for customers to see and enjoy.
The Linda Barker brand is in collaboration with MA Living, a new line of stylish beds designed by Linda and the team at MA. An exciting project, the aim was to create a new sub brand for MA that helped differentiate the collection, whilst looking right at home next to the MA look.
Chord designed a brand based on Linda’s ideas, inspirations and personal touch. The logo is a simplified version of Linda’s signature, with an accent of the styles Linda loves incorporating into her designs. We also created marketing collateral to support the brand, including product specification sheets and a web page on the MA website to promote the project.
Founded by Steve & Jenny Armitage, Huutt is a super stylish upholstery manufacturer based in Kent. A fabulous collection of sofas, chairs and beds required a website to suit, so Huutt approached Chord to help create a site that allowed customers to browse the ranges and get a glimpse into the world of Huutt.
The new website was designed to bring out the best of the Huutt brand, utilising lifestyle imagery, colours and a country essence to create a branded experience online. As well as this, a payment terminal was added online to enable Huutt customers to make payments securely online, without the need to take payment details over the phone.
A very well known and much loved factory outlet store, Lawton’s operate stores in Liverpool and Flint. With such a changing stock list, Chord were asked to create a new website and brand to help present the company in the best possible way online and in store.
Lawton’s are a price point retailer, so the brand needed to reflect that. Chord helped to create a new logo and colour scheme to help attract attention and keep things simple for customers. The now iconic green and grey is used around the store on signage and pricing tickets, with brand now very well known in and around the North East.
For the new website, we took everything back to the drawing board and started fresh. The site is focused on keeping customers updated as quickly as possible on new products, so a Facebook feed is on all pages to ensure any new stock is shown to web users. As well as this, products available to order and promoted ranges are displayed through the site.
With furniture being the ever changing industry it is, Chord also developed a custom CMS for Lawton’s to be able to easily update prices and product codes, helping them keep their site up to date quickly and to ensure no money is lost by having old prices on the website.
A giant in the UK furniture supply industry, Alexander & James are an upholstery design house based in Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire. With growing demand and an increased presence in retailers across the world, Chord were asked to help produce brand collateral that would add another dimension to products on display in stores.
Chord worked to create specification sheets for A&J products that could do a lot in a little space. Designed to be printed onto A5 card, the cards needed to show the extensive offering available on every product. Using a clean design, we worked to create a template that worked for every model and option, displaying everything a customer needs to make an informed decision on their new sofa.
Alongside the collateral work, Chord operated on a consultancy style basis for several months, helping to streamline the marketing side of A&J and create collateral that aided sales in store and on the company website.
Established in 1990, Vogue are an experienced name in beds, divans and mattresses in the UK. Based in Leicester, the group has grown greatly since its inception, with more products and brands being added to their product offering through the last 30 years of trading. Having a large collection to present, Chord were approached to help get their latest ranges into a new brochure.
The brochure was designed to get as much key information to the customer as possible, whilst keeping things simple and easy to follow for readers. With a layout designed to separate different information categories, the brochure helps bring both the design and science to the forefront, differentiating products in a way that helps customers decide what’s best for them and their needs.
Chord also worked with Vogue to create photography to work in the new brochures as well as in all of their marketing. We helped design sets, source props and piece together photographs to help capture the product in a clean and simple way, in line with the product's appeal.

Based in Leicester, Limelight are a bed wholesaler who have a stunning collection of simplistic bed frames. Combining modern and classic styles, the products on offer are customer favourites that had started losing their edge in terms of photography and presentation. Chord were approached to help revitalise the product photography, as well as create a new product brochure that displayed the products in the way they needed and deserved.
For the photography, we decided to take a fresh new approach to the product. With the collection of styles available, we designed a shoot process across three different sets in order to accommodate as many styles and options as possible. Chord sourced props and accent furniture in order to create a complete look ready to capture and share with Limelight’s customers.
Chord also creates brochures to promote Limelight’s products in store and online. A new company in the optometry industry, Le-Roche is a stylish boutique unlike any other opticians you’ve ever seen. Based in Wetherby, North Yorkshire, Chord were asked to help set the company up with a stylish brand and website to help them navigate their first years in the business.
The brand needed to be high end and stylish, with a message of designer looks and expert healthcare. Using modern styles combined with a classic twist, the logo shown was designed in order to achieve the goals set out by Le-Roche and ourselves.
For the new website, the task was no different, top end looks with style and practicality throughout. Using a simple look, we designed the site to help users navigate efficiently, whilst ensuring the options available to customers in the store were present online for new customers to see.
A new startup based in Sheffield, Sofalux is home to stylish sofas and upholstery often exclusive for the UK market. With huge potential waiting to be started, Chord were asked to create a new brand for Sofalux to hit the market with and make strides.
The brand needed to be luxurious yet approachable, with the company still unsure where they would fall in the UK market. With this in mind, we set out to find a design that was a middle ground approach that hit all the right notes. Using a rich colour scheme and upmarket lettering, the logo shown was created to help start Sofalux’s journey into retail.
Alongside the logo, Chord also helped to create brand collateral, such as business cards, letterheads, compliment slips and more. Sofalux were now ready for action!
Based in Castleford, Allied 4 Vans are a one stop shop for business and personal van hire & purchasing. With a reputation across Yorkshire, Allied asked us to help them deliver more marketing materials to customers new and potential using email marketing.
We set about creating emails that perfectly presented information, offers and pricing to recipients in a clear and stylish way. Allied 4 Vans are known for their affordable pricing, so we knew that presentation was key to make the deal all the more enticing. Chord created an email style that proved extremely successful, encouraging new customers to purchase/hire from Allied and get a better deal alongside better customer service.
Based in Long Eaton, AMX is a sofa manufacturer supplying into some of the biggest names in UK upholstery. Chord worked with AMX to create new assets to compliment their products in stores across the country.
Our main project with AMX was to create swatch covers that would help customers in stores get more information about the product. Using a clean and simple design, we create a new cover template that worked to get as much information as possible into the limited space available. Product diagrams, dimensions, options and more were all shown on one side of A3 paper, perfect for helping a customer make a purchasing decision quickly.
A relatively new EPOS system to the industry, ZigZag is a growing system provider for retailers and wholesalers alike. Based in Bingham, Nottinghamshire, ZigZag have worked with Chord over many years to help provide style, branding, marketing and UI design to the system and project.
We have partnered with ZigZag to help revitalise the system for its latest version, encouraging cleaner UI and processes for users to get things done. As well as design, Chord has worked on building smoother transitions and elements in the front end of the system.
